The IT Technician II role is to support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required.

Strategy & Planning

· Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring PC performance

· Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs

· Support development and implementation of new computer images and new hardware installations

· Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables, and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans

Operational Management

· Work with end users to identify and deliver required PC service levels

· Create and assign Helpdesk tickets originating from phone calls, emails, and walk-ins

· Recommend, schedule, and perform PC, hardware, and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs

· Work with end users to provide training and support on computer operation and troubleshooting

· Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware and software, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware and software products

· Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed

· Develop and maintain an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment

· Create and manage Active Directory Users and Groups

· Create and manage Exchange Email and Public Folder accounts

· Support in-house software and applications


Knowledge & Experience

· Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware

· Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience

· Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards

· Working knowledge of Layer 3 networking design and implementation desired

· Working knowledge of Dante digital audio networking a plus

· Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories as required

· Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides

· Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required

· Recommended minimum certification – CompTIA A+, Net+ or equivalent experience
